Have Another

$10.00

Only ten months after releasing "Not Fighters," The Clintons surprised everyone by putting out the summer of '08 anthem album, "Have Another." The Clintons sixth record is riddled with party theme rockers like "Three Day Bender," "Real Man," the disco-infused "Dub-T Bootay," and the bluegrass rock song about pleading with the Man upstairs, "Jesus, If You Get Me Out of This."

In true Clintons fashion, "Have Another" has love songs like "This Is Perfect" and "Dance Slow," but also surprises listeners with the chilling opening track, "Come Home, Eric," a biographical song about singer John McLellan's friend who is currently serving in the armed forces in Iraq.

"Have Another" is a raw and back-to-basics record for The Clintons. It has simple song arrangements, features no guest musicians, and showcases the Clintons signature fusion of rock, reggae, and country.

The Recording Process
Same as "Strange Day in Mexico" and "Not Fighters," "Have Another" was produced by drummer Levi Kujala. The recording process begins in Mesa, Arizona where Levi records the drum tracks in the state-of-the-art SonicPhish Studios. The tracks are then taken back to Levi's Bozeman, MT condo, dubbed "Abidition Studio," where the rest of the tracking takes place. Over the next two months, the band adds the bass tracks, guitars, accompanying keyboard arrangements, and vocals to Levi's drum tracks, eventually coming together to form a full, unified sound.

Once the songs are seasoned with percussion, the project goes through a three week editing and arranging process before being shipped back to Phoenix where accomplished producer Ken Mary mixes the record. Mixing is the process of taking the producer's overall vision for the project and making it come alive by using panning, EQ, and compression to mix together up to 40 individual tracks in a song to make a stereo sound file. Once Ken is done mixing, the stereo recording goes to mastering. The mastering for "Have Another" was done by the legendary Bernie Grundman who, among thousands of other records, mastered the best selling album in history, Michael Jackson's "Thriller."

While mixing and mastering was taking place, Joel Simmerman at Rocket Dog Studio in Missoula, MT designed the album artwork. Working closely with Levi to achieve the band's collective vision for the artwork, he used photos from a Steve Winslow and Sophie Lane session and churned out the final artwork for the record within just a few days.

The last step is sending the master recording and the artwork to Discmakers, where they build thousands of discs and send them to Bozeman within about a 20-day turn around time.

When all said and done, it takes about 600 man hours to complete a new Clintons record. As soon as the record sales pay for the cost of recording "Have Another," we'll get started on the next one.
