Not Fighters, the band’s fifth release since their inception in 1999 and first since 2005’s Strange Day in Mexico, is sure to please both old Clintons diehards and new music adventurists alike. After starting out with over 20 songs, they recorded 18 and further narrowed the track listing down to the 11 cuts that they felt would make the most thematically cohesive record. Even though the tone of the album is unified and focused, fans of the band’s diverse sound need not worry—Not Fighters is just as varied and unpredictable as its predecessors.
